Those sad, helpless eyes
I was driving with Jess and her mom the other day and we saw that a dog was hit by a car. We stopped, turned and went to see if it was alive. We got there, got out of the car, saw that it was alive. Jess' mom was trying to get the cars to stop, a van didn't stop. It ran over the dog again. I went to see it, it was still alive. Another car stopped, a guy picked up the dog so we could take it to the vet. I was sitting in the back so I held it on my lap. I was talking to it and trying to make sure it kept breathing and conscious and stuff. Not that I really knew what I should do but I just kept petting and talking to it. The guy said "at least if it dies, it'll have someone that cared for it during it's last hours". That made me think of like an angel of death... Anyways, it had this fucking cute bandana around it's neck with pumpkins... So we are driving and it's breathing and it's eyes are open. We are still driving, seemed like we were driving forever. We finally get there and the dog dies. It died right on my lap. His head flopped, tongue fell out and there was blood on my jeans. We picked it up to carry it into the vet and it felt so gross. You could tell there was internal damage cuz it just felt so wrong. Anyways, we put it on the table and IT BLINKED!! I was like "omg it's alive!!!" But no... its heart stopped and they couldn't start it again although they tried for 5 minutes. That's the first time I ever watched something die.
